  • These are the first awards of the new stage at the winery following the arrival of Pablo Ossorio at the technical control.

Bodegas Vegamar just won two major awards for its High Altitude Mediterranean Wines at the Mundus Vini contest that has just taken place in Germany and which involved wines from over twenty countries with more 1,600 samples tasted.

The young wines from the winery, located in Valencia, were at the highest scores of this important International Contest, especially Vegamar Selection Garnacha 2014, which won a gold award.

In Valencia only two other wines won such an award, the Ametista DO Valencia and Montgo of DO Alicante.

Besides the Vegamar Garnacha was another wine from the winery, Vegamar Blanco, which is made from Sauvignon Blanc and Muscat, a new blend with which the technical manager of the winery, Pablo Ossorio, wanted to make a Premium white for the winery, contributing with the local variety Muscat to the freshness and florality of the Sauvignon Blanc. A national touch to an international variety, making it a very elegant Mediterranean wine, which adds now to its commercial success the critics’ recognition.

These awards are the first who achieves the winery in this new stage, that began a year ago when the prestigious winemaker, Pablo Ossorio, took the technical controls of the winery.
