Vegamar brings 4 medals from the most prestigious wine event in the United States

  • Gold for 2015 Vegamar Selección Syrah, and silvers for 2013 Crianza, and the 2012 and 2014 Esencia Reserva, all reds PDO Alto Turia Valencia.

premios-usa-300x193Bodegas Vegamar just won an important victory in the United States to get four of their wines reach the gold and silver in the main competition of this country, which will serve as enviable card for US importers that have already begun ask for the wines of Alto Turia Valencia.

So US market opens where Vegamar had timidly entered.

It was in the 16th edition of the Finger Lakes International Wine Competition that was held in Rochester, New York, whose results have just met and in which the winery from Calles has achieved the gold with 2015 Vegamar Selección Syrah, a red wine from the current crop that had just been awarded in Valencia in Proava, and three silvers for many other reds, which are the 2012 Vegamar Reserva, the Vegamar Esencia and 2013-2014 Vegamar Crianza.

The 2012 Vegamar Reserva came by the hand of Pablo Ossorio who have joined the varieties of Vegamar. Cabernet, merlot and syrah, who have slept a year in barrels of French and American oak barrels before bottling, since it went on the market did through the front door with a Golden Bacchus.

The 2014 Vegamar Esencia has also gone through the aging barrels for fourteen months, but the blend here dominates the local garnacha from Alto Turia with syrah. Such good results given in this area by altitude and adaptation to soils. As well as for the 2013 Vegamar Crianza, which dominates here is the tempranillo with merlot and syrah.

Vegamar is the only winery in the Valencian Community who has won medals fighting with 916 wineries and 3,800 wines from 26 countries. Spain won five gold medals, one for our Syrah 2015, and 17 silver, scoring three our cellar.
