premios-finger-lakesA gold medal and two silver just awared as many other Vegamar wines in the Bacchus Awards organized by the Spanish Union of Tasters that just finilized. The Bacchus is the most important award of our country, with more than 1,500 participants references and a hundred of specialized tasters.

The 2012 Vegamar Reserva gets the unique Gold Medal of the DOP Valencia, a red wine aged in new barrels of French and American oak and fruit of the blend by Pablo Ossorio, making the most profit of the extraordinary raw material of the vineyards in Alto Turia.

The Calles winery also won two silvers. This is the 2014 Vegamar Esencia, a red that ages in wood fourteen months, the garnacha dominates over the syrah. Also a bet of Ossorio to take advantage of the height that vineyards that Vegamar have, but combining it with syrah, a French variety that gives the wine an international touch favoring their success in foreign markets.

The 2014 Esencia is a wine that will be next month in the market and is awarded with two medals in international competitions.

The third prize is another novelty, in this case a rosé harvest of 2015. This is the Vegamar Selección Merlot, pale pink to pink like modern but with all the flavor of the Bordeaux variety.

These three medals are part of the seven achieved by the four wineries awarded the DOP Valencia in this contest.

CINVE and Mundus Vini

Recognition of Bacchus consolidates the launch of the Alto Turia in the DOP Valencia and turns Vegamar the winery of refference in the territory. Eleven awards in just over a month in three international competitions speak for themselves the potential of Vegamar wines because they are not always the same wines that achieved the awards.

The versatility of Vegamar to combine wines attached to the land such as merseguera and garnacha, with international wines such as merlot or syrah is what distinguishes the cellar, apart from prized coupages as the award winning Esencia with garnacha and syrah or White Vegamar with Sauvinong Blanc and Moscatel.

Feet on the terroir but an eye to export is the aim of Bodegas Vegamar and sees these international awards paved the commercial way.
